65 won't start
I have a 65 mustang 6 cyl. Im havin an issue thats intermittent. When you turn the key all you hear is the solenoid. I replaced the solenoid and the same thing happens. All the lights, horn, radio, wipers and everything works. When u turn the key the solenoid makes it noise and the starter wont spin or anything. Whenit first happened the car fired right up and ran for a bit, then stalled and nothing(just solenoid noise). the battery voltage is 12.2v.... maybe charge it over night? bad ground? everything is good. now what?

RE: 65 won't start
sounds like what happened to my truck when the starter went bad. that would be my guess

try tapping lightly on the starter case maybe its sticking?

RE: 65 won't start
I had some trouble like that and it was simply a loose connection on the starter.Your starter is getting juice as far as the solenoid.Use a test light at the starter to see if its gettingany juice when the key is turned.if the connector is tight, and you get power there, remove the starter and test it.It probably wont work.

RE: 65 won't start
Have you tried jumping it real quick? Could still be battery if you did not load test it.
