RPM's drop under braking load.

OK. I replaced the intake manifold, the carb, all the hoses and the brake booster. There is absolutly no vacuum leak on the car, it runs perfect and I have the warm idle set at 700-750 RPMS. Here is my problem....(same one I hade before swapping everything out) If I put the car in drive or reverse it idles fine. However, when I apply the brakes while it's in gear the cars RMPS drop by 200. It isn't when I first touch the brakes, it's when the brakes actually stop the wheels that the drop happens (it's on blocks) . I know it's not a vacuum leak cause I tried it with the line unhooked and plugged and it also doesn't do it in park or neutral. It's when the brakes are under load that the drop happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

mine does that also, i think its because the booster requires vaccumm to operate.

It shouldn't be happening though.

Could my torque converter be the problem...?

might be your torque converter when you drive it and slow down does it rev down and do like a spike where it revs up or any werid noises from the tranny. have you changed the tranny fuild and filter ever on it

No weird noices or spikes. The RPMS just drop and the car stalls unless I give it the gas. I just changed the tranny filter and fluid.

try driving it see if the tranny shifts fine try adjusting the idle higher on the carb

Try installing a vacum canister.
