Yeah, I've got the 570 street avenger on a performer, with the performer cam. Once the jets were changed while on the dyno, the A/F ratio is perfect accross the rev range. I think its probably the best suited carby you can buy for a 289/302. - bit then again, the only other carby I've had on it was the 2bbl 2100 (or whatever its called)
On that, I don't think it mattters what carby you buy, a dyno tune is one of the best investment you can get. Unless you've been setting up carbs for years, don't even attempt it. The dyno, (with a good mechanic) will tune evreything perfectly.

I, like the edelbrock 600CFM carb. But I would like to have an Autolite 4100 carb also. On a stock 289, you need anything bigger than a 600 CFM carb

Before: Stock 289 with Autolite 2100 2 barrel carb

After: Stock 289 with Autolilte 4100 4 barrel Spreadbore carb from Pony Carbs - Stock Ford 4 barrel intake manifold.

I was just looking to go to a 4 barrel setup - either the stock Ford intake manifold or a Weiand(#8011) would work well. I'm happy with the stock Ford manifold. Responds well to blipping the throttle but I am sure the Weiand would provide a bit more torque on the low end. I don't race the car so I wasn't concerned with a huge performance upgrade. I just wanted reliability with a little better flow - +1 to the ford intake as everything bolts directly up to where it is supposed to be.

If the carb and engine is tuned correctly, you will not feel the secondaries 'kick in'.

If you own all them firearms, you should not advertise the fact. Someone will be breaking in and taking your vault.
