I've known the Senior Editor, Jim Smart, for Mustang Monthly for 14 years and I give him tips and a hard time too. There is a second publication that is Mustang related, and that's Musangs and Fords. Same company, same staff, but I think that Mustang Monthly is more aligned to classics. Note: Ford does a lot of advertising there and Smart is on friendly terms with Mustangs Plus in Stockton - home of the restomod.

http://www.autorestorermagazine.com/...9c5d290618.JPGIn the past I had subscriptions to Mustang Monthly, and Mustang and ford and liked the Mustang and ford publication better, because of the verity of cars and the fact that it stayed more to the 60s era cars. Mustang Monthly had a lot of good articles about classic cars but also the more modern ones that were of less interest to me. I got fed up with both publications in the last year or so because most (not all) of the "feature" cars were people with more money than car restoration skills, and the tech articles went from useful articles like top 25 upgrades to get from donor cars in the junk yard, to top 25 modifications for a mustang (all of them being full aftermarket kits that cost any where from $500.00 to $2500.00 each most over $1000) Needless to say it became less about DIY and more about advertising for aftermarket companies. So I no longer subscribe to either. The best car publication I have ever found is Auto restorer. It is all about fixing cars yourself, all aspects from drive train to bodywork and everything in between, all makes all models with no special loyalty to Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler (lets face it the more you can learn about all makes and modles the better you will be at working on cars in general). They spent over a year on a full restore of a Charger and then another year on the full restoration of a 68 Mustang coupe. Here is the Magazines web site: http://www.autorestorermagazine.com/ar/

And no I do not work for the company nor do I receive any money from them for referrals I just like there publication!!! :)

We scrounge the back issue bins here for Mustang Monthly. So I could fairly say it has a good following out here.

It's not based soley on classics, but Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords is a great magazine.
