the vac line off the back of the trans
 
ok so the vac line coming of of the back of the trans from that little gold cylinder thing.... can it be ran in to this insted of the manifold?

Not if that's the PCV valve hose. (and not to good hooking to the power brake hose either) Don't you have a manifold port to connect it to?

That looks to me like the PCV hose and that goes to a valve cover opening... why would you not want to just hook up the tranny vac line to the manifold?

the vac line from the back of the tranny usually runs to a manifold port at the back of the intake on the driver side. Your pic is the PCV at the base off the carb that connects to the PCV valve on the valve cover.

Because thats (PCV valve)a controlled vacumn leak and the modulator won't see all of the manifold vacum it needs to be effective.
