Default Achieving 370 hp. and 390 tq.

is achieveing 370 hp and 390 tq for street use..

With a 302 Worth it ?

How much will it take ?

Stroked ... Sure ....

No wet stuff or chargers.

is 370 too much for the streets ?

high rmp tq of 302 better than low rpm of 351 for streets ?

Gas efficiency ? Is it worth it ?

You have started like 50 threads on what engine to build. It seems like you don't know what you want. Just build a 302 or a 351 with a basic performance goal in mind, 2,000-5,500rpm range, good power, good mid range, good bottom end torque, decent mileage, reliable. Whatever the power is, it is, but it'll run well and you won't have any problems with it

right now you can get a 331 stroker kit with upgraded (probe) pistons from FullAuto (a member here) for less than 700 bucks. top that short block off with any decent set of heads - patriot aluminums are new on the scene, with good build quality (from their 4.6 customer satisfaction track record) and they are like 895.00 a pair.

bingo bango, you just made all kinds of power for cheap

[align=left]I just checked the patriot heads out on e-bay. They look amazing. Where are they made? Have they been tested for reliability and strength? They look better than my TFS heads

^ lol

the patriot heads...... i have not heard of anyone using them yet so i can see how that looks bad, but by the same token they have been selling heads for the OHC 4.6 liter V8 stangs for awhile now and those are supposed to be good quality - i dont see them doing good on a complex head and then putting out junk for a 302/351 ya know?

my guess, a 331 with those heads and a proper cam / intake / exhaust (along with all other support items like roller rockers, a good carb, ignition, etc) your over 400 @ the flywheel on pump gas easily.

now.... for some comparing

they outflow the trick flow twisted wedge hands down.
they outflow the trick flow track heat heads.
they outflow the trick flow high ports too, with 1 exception of 2 cfm @ .500 on the intake.

they outflow the AFR 165's
AFR 185's outflow these on the intake side, but not on the exhaust

they flow very close with the RHS 180's on the intake and exhaust - its back and forth between the heads at various lift points but within approx 5cfm the whole way up.

they outflow edelbrock performer heads by a long shot
they outflow edelbrock performer rpm heads by a long shot as well
they outflow the edelbrock victor jrs until .500 on the intake (where the vics really pull ahead), but outflow vics on the ex all the way up.

so..... bottom line is these arent THE BEST flowing heads, but they perform better than MANY of the currently popular brands, and they do so for less than 900.00 a pair
