Need Advice: Front Suspension - Anything other than Mustang II choices????
Hi All, and thanks for reading.
I want to remove my 67's shock towers to make room. Are there any other choices besides the"Mustang II" front ends?Theidea of all that welding seems very intimidating. So far I found Rod and Customs, Heidts and Fat Man, but they all seem to be the same type of Mustang II setups. Is there anything else?
thanks,
Stef

Theres http://www.griggsracing.com/index.php and rrs-online.com both you need to weld. The mustang 2 kits make it handle worse id only use one for drag only car.Why do you need to remove your stock towers both big blocks fit fine in a 67 the mod motor youll have to notch or remove them then.

Its not much welding if the cross member is already built. Once its lined up and the towers are removed, it only takes a few minutes to weld in. Just make sure the welds are good.

What are you installing that you needed to remove the shock towers for in a 67 mustang?

The other is the rumors about the Mustang II front ends on the 64 - 73's making them handle worse than the original pieces. You get all the look of a coil over tubular race-bred chasis, but none of the performance. I'm not sure; is this closer to rumor or fact???

Go and download NPD's catalog online, www.npdlink.com they offer replacement shock towers that are setup with the notching to install big blocks, modular motors.
http://www.fatmanfab.com/catalogpage.php?page=21 And thats an all in one kit for everything on your front end. No cutting, drilling, or welding to molest your car, everything can be reversed. I was putting it in my 66 before I had to move and sell it, and I'm going to order it again and put it in my 67. It was very well made and fit very well.

You don't reallty need an M2 to put a mod motor in a 67. There are guys who have trimmed the towers to squeeze it in. But,the 4.6Llooks more impressive in the engine bay with an M2!
