Default Newbie w/ Barn Find 73 Mach 1

Hi everyone, Im a newbie on your site, first post.

First just want to say Hi from Indiana. Second, I need some help!

This 73 Mach 1 is my first ford purchase. I just bought it 2 days ago for my brother in law in MI. , he told me to grab it and he would be down this weekend to pick it up. He calls me a few hours after I bought it and says "dont buy it, I cant get the money" My wife and I put a offer in on a house before I laid out the cash on this car and last night they accepted our offer. Now I need to sell it fast. Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Here are some details:

The first few numbers of the vin are 3F05H

has factory AC, PS, PB, Tilt wheel, Factory Tach and guages. 373 posi rear. Also has a extra set of bucket seats and the complete factory fold down rear seat setup with side panels etc.

Original motor is gone, but has a 1969 T-Bird 429 Thunderjet/C6 to go with the car.

Will need floor pan work, owner said he patched them up a few yaers ago, I dont think this car has been on the road since the early 80's. Other than that the car looks real solid. I will try and post some pics of it. Whats it worth guys? Where is the best place to sell it?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Travis

Hi Travis, how much you have in it? PM me if you dont want the world to know. Unless its really cheap I cant help you out this month, but I am very interested in the 429/C6. I dont expect it to be cheap if you cant swing it and a down on a house.

Looks to be in quite a bit better shape than my 71.. that doesnt take much though.

351 2V auto so the value is going to be relatively low on it, limited rust is a plus. My best guess would be $1500 or thereabouts, depending on how bad the frame rails are

Thanks for the reply.... I have 2500 in everything, car, motor/trans the extra bucket seats and fold down seat, extra L. front fender, extra bumper and some other misc. pieces. I was told I got a great deal at this price by several people.

OK guys, Help me figure this out.... I went to the barn and cleaned and looked for numbers on heads and block etc. I dont think it is a Thunder Jet motor, just has the air breather from one. I dont think its a 1969 either, it must be a 1971?? If Im reading right, its a CJ or SCJ motor.

Here is what I have found...

Heads have a DOVE-C on both

Block has a DIVE 6015 AA casting.

Block has 1C19Z stamped on the front passenger side. Assembly date?

Block has 1Y123487 stamped on the back drivers side. Partial VIN?

What is it??

Looks like a nice car to start with.Only thing i see wrong on it is a 71 gas cap flip down and its missing the clock in the console.Pull the trim off the back window and look for rust on the lower part of the window frame.

Okay I am going to attempt to decipher this haha.
1C19Z
From the book I have I am guessing that means 1971 CJ built on the 19th of December?? Anyone want to back that up?
Heads D0 = 70 , like BA Mustang stated
Block D1 = 71 , like BA Mustang stated
1Y123487 = a bunch of numbers that most likely mean nothing.

Pull more numbers off of it and try to get some close up pictures. If you can not read it grab a piece of paper and a crayon. Place the paper over the number and rub the crayon on the paper. Maybe will give you a better read.
