STOLEN !!! Camaros in Northwest Arkansas
Brothers and sisters, I am posting this thread in the hopes that someone out there may stumble onto one of these cars. They were both stolen from an area dealer who's a heck of a nice guy. They actually stole 3 cars all at the same time but one of them was recovered quite by a stroke of luck. Now for the details .....
These were stolen about 2:00 a.m. the morning of October 24th. The building they were in is a classic car showroom/dealership which was broken into and these 3 cars were removed carefully and without damage to any of the others. The dealership is here in my city of Springdale, Arkansas. The dealership is C&S Classic Cars and it is owned by Charles Lumpkin. His phone number is 870-926-2018 . If you should come upon any of these cars please contact Charles , your local police , the Springdale police at 479-751-4542 or myself at 479-263-3326. I know that Charles is hammering out the details for a large reward for info leading to the arrest and conviction of the rat bastards that took these cars.
Car # 1 - This is a one of a kind 1967 Camaro .. Please go to the link posted for all the details and a bunch of photos.

Car # 2 - This is an unbelievable car. Charles had just taken delivery of this one owner, 12,000 actual mile 69 RS/SS Camaro. This car is hugger orange with vinyl top, houndstooth , 350/350 and it is 100 % ORIGINAL. Box stock and still carrying all of it's original paint, interior, drivetrain, top , tires etc ... This car is probably the nicest unrestored 69 Camaro on the planet ! Unfortunately Charles had not even photographed the car yet andthe onlyphotos we have are these two which were taken at the previous owners home. This car MUST be found.

Car # 3 - This is the good news. This car is a 69 RS/SS L-89 car that was stopped by an unsuspecting local cop for a non-functioning headlight. This car was stopped shortly after being stolen and the driver fled on foot when the cops pulled him over. He has yet to be captured. This car is also spectacular and it still carries its' original aluminum headed big block and all other drivetrain. Needless to say this car is now in a place as secure as Fort Knox and there is very little likelihood that it will ever be at risk again.

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. I realize they aren't Mustangs or even Fords for that matter but the thieves must be caught. They were obviously professionals, very selective and very competent in their chosen trade of thievery. The bottom line is this, the next car they steal may be one of ours.
Thanks again, Dean Bitner 479-263-3326

RE: STOLEN !!! Camaros in Northwest Arkansas
For someone to steal those cars, it was either an inside job or they must have did their homework in checking the dealership out. Nosurveillance cameras? I'm sure these guys must have been inside the dealership acting like customers/workers or something. They definitely knew what to steal. Those are high end cars.

DEFINTELY NOT an inside job guys. C&S is a first rate shop and Charles is straight up. These cars were under-insured and the other items stolen had no insured value at all. Charles lost thousands of dollars worth of vintage neon, literature etc ... that did not have a dime of insurance on it.
Here's a few more details... The recovered L-89 car and the missing 67 were both seen in Tontitown, Arkansas traveling west on US highway 412 toward Tulsa, Oklahoma about 2:00 a.m. The driver of the 69 who escaped the cops was a black male and he is captured on the dashboard camera footage. There was also at least 1 other chase/interference vehicle escorting the two cars. There was additional evidence recovered but I hate to get too specific for fear of messing up the investigation.
Now what I'm about to say might see weird... BUT. The missing 67 is a spectacular car. It's craftsmanship is insane and the car is about as nice as anyone could ever hope to build. However, what's really sad here is that SOME SORRY SOB has his hands on the nicest 69 RS/SS survivor on the planet. The missing Hugger car is unparalleled, irreplacable and absolutely museum quality. If we don't find this car before it is stripped, painted and re-numbered or shipped overseas... we have lost a piece of history. the quiver in Charles' voice when talking about the Hugger car is all the proof I need to know that he was not involved.
This is the bottom line...... these guys were skilled professionals ! The tactics they used todefeat the security, the method of entry to the building, even their specificity in choosing cars tells me that these guys knew exactly what they were doing. This was no sloppy job carried out by hacks ...THESE GUYS WERE PROS ! They pushed more valuable cars out of the way to get the cars they wanted . These Camaros were the targets. They have obviously skilled themselves in the art of thievery, and they can have your car anytime they want it.
Think about it, Dean

RE: STOLEN !!! Camaros in Northwest Arkansas
I would certainly agree that these things are commonly an inside job. But, this guy is in no financial bind, is about as honest as they get and is genuinely distressed about the whole deal. One thing to consider is that if he were behind it, he'd have simply left a door unlocked. These thieves went well beyond a simple smash and grab.
One other thing to remember is that if he needed a little cash... any one of these cars would have easily exceeded most of our annual salarys. He wouldn't have taken 3 of them. Not to mention the fact that he's still buying cars for inventory. In fact, Monday we're going to look at a 64 SS Impala , 40K original miles , black with red interior, original paint etc ... with a 409 and a 4 speed.
I agree with the first impression from the outside looking in. If I didn't know all the details I'd be inclined to agree with you. It's a terrible shame no matter what.
