Gas pedal adjustment?

Gas pedal adjustment?
I have a '67 mustang with a '66 6 cylinder engine. Recently, the idle is a little rough and it sounds like it's not getting enough gas and going to shut off.I noticed if I hold down the gas pedal just a little, the engine runs a little smoother. I just got a tune-up. This seems to have accentuated the problem since the engines running the way it should. I would like to adjust the gas pedal down a bit. Can someone explain how to do this? Or recommend a good web article about this. I have searched the web but have been unsuccessful. Also, do you think the spring attached to the carburetor should be adjusted or repositioned? Thanks.

RE: Gas pedal adjustment?
Might have to adjust the carb on that thing unless you did it as part of the tune up you had. Otherwise, the automatic choke may need adjusting. My 67 stang is an inline 6 with the one barrel carb and it was acting up on me and running very rich. I adjusted the carb screws and played around with the automatic choke and that seem to smooth thing out considerably. Keep us posted on your results...

RE: Gas pedal adjustment?
If you don't find a thread about tuning your carb after searching this forum, or even if you do and still don't feel completely comfortable, take it to a shop. I'd probably even take it back to the shop that just did your tune up. If they "tuned" your car, it shouldn't be running rough. Take it back to them and tell them to correct it. Either way, you don't adjust your gas pedal. You adjust your idle, your air/fuel mix, you check for vacuum leaks, but you don't adjust your gas pedal to compensate for a rough running car. Good luck to you!
