Just install the pins, then slam the hood real hard. Where the dent is is where it needs to be drilled.

JK JK don't try that hahaha. Hmm I'd guess to meansure from where the edge of the hood will be to where the hood pins will go, then take that measurement and put it on the hood and drill there. Thats the best I can think of...

Ok then the way I look at it is since the hood pin is going straight up, you need to drill through the hood at that angle. So in other words the drill bit should not be flat up against the hood (perpindicular to it), but rather place it parallel to the hood pin, just straight up and down.

If you think about it, when the hood is shut, the holes need to be inline with the pins, and to achieve this it must be straight up and down like the pins.

Before I drilled my holes, I installed the pins. Once installed, I tweaked them to where I thought they were square. I put a drop of paint on the tips of each pin then lowered the hood until it touched. This let me see where the pins were landing. One pin was almost an inch too far left, so I removed the pin mounting bracket and rewelded it to compensate for the difference. Rechecked..and was good.I drilled the holes from the bottom side. The pins flex enough that you shouldn't worry too much about the angle...they will feed through the hole just fine. I mounted the top plates and riveted them on. They work great. Hope this helps....
