paint question - exterior

well, i'm thinking of colors to paint the mustang and i just don't want silver frost again. i was thinking either black base with a silver top or maybe a gold base with a tangerine on top - not sure. i've seen the gold / tangerine but i have nothing to base my black / silver with - anyone have anything it might look like? i'd hate to buy the paint and have it done only to hate it. :|

you could try using a scrap piece of metal and see how you like it. might cost $100 but at least you'd get a sample and 100 bux is alot cheeper than a 3000 paint job

yea i suppose.. 3000? rofl my paint job isn't even costing over 1000. i'm just paying for primer and paint. - doing all the work myself and my father (painter for over 45 years) is spraying it.

i just wanted something that wasn't run of the mill colors but nothing outlandish like a chameleon paint job or some crap ya know?

yeah. I'd say just spray a piece of scrap metal and see if you like it. I'm trying the roll on paint job right now. I started with some gutter scrap that my brother gave me. I'm really liking the look and will probably do it on my 64. It'll probably cost me $150-200. not exactly the $50 that everyone said. but I wanted to make sure that I liked it before I touched my car with it.
