Default 1966 Hi Po Manifolds question

The 302 in my car has the cast iron Ford Hi Performance manifolds on it (going to a dual 2.5" exhaust).

Would I gain much by switching to a set of headers?
I wont change them out if the gain is very small.
If you can recommend a specific brand I would appreciate it. I want something that fits without having to mod anything. (I have a C4 auto & may go with an AOD when the C4 gives out).

My car is a weekly driver (more often in good weather) & I want to eventually make 300-350 HP with it. Will be going to better breathing AFR heads one day so that may be a factor in the decision.

What do you guys think?

depends on what headers. longtubes make more low end power and shortys make high rpm power. i have tri-y's. they didnt make any power gains on my motor but it made it sound better.

Motor is a stock 1993 Cobra short block that was purchased rebuilt from Ford last year (by the PO).
Soit shouldhave stock 1993 5.0 Cobra internals. That would be 9:1 compression, GT-40 heads (I'm not sure they really are GT-40 heads but I won't go into that now). Edelbrock F4B intake with a 600 Vac Sec Holley. C-4, with shift kit, rear is 3.0 gears. Not sure what convertor is, but probably whatever was stock on a 1966 car.

i have gt tips with the 3 hole vents. does it really effect it much? i dont think so. if it did, there would be no noticable difference whatsoever. and if it was easier on the enigne, you might get a extra 50 miles outta it till it dies way down the road.

no my engine is at my work being built. theres not enough back pressure for the louvers to do anything anyway. its 2.5 inch exhaust.
