1968 cougar xr7 axle decodeing help!
 

I have a 1968 cougar xr7 that I use for parts can anybody help me decode the axle code the axle code is ( 5 ) I have a 279.1 in my mustang now I'm hopeing that the one on the cougar is a lower gear 325.1 or 350.1 would be nice lol so any help would be great thanks guys!!

If they are the same as a Mustang's I would think this might help.

It makes more sense to decode the tag that is on the third member not the axle code on the VIN plate.
