How much torque to lift a car?

I saw a couple videos of 65 mustangs doing wheelies when drag racing. I have always been curios how much torque/horsepower it would take to make a 65 do a wheelie or get the front to stand up slightly?

its not so much that as it is suspension set up. i know a 250 rwhp fox body with only suspension mods that will raise the left front at the strip.

well. 1 man power according to me:D. i can lift my front end off the ground right now. with no engine in it. i just stand in the engine bay and lift it. so thats 1mp.

haha:D

but the suspension setup is just as important (if not more) as torque to pull a wheelie

That's why the retards that pull massive wheelies for the first few hundred feet don't know how to set up suspension. That energy that's being used to lift the car could be better put to use by moving it down the track, rather than towards the sky.

Its not the torque...its the traction and the suspension.

I make a boat load of power but I have my car setup with a road race suspension, so when I leave the line at the strip...I get almost zero lift on my front suspension.

since I am going with a 408 stroker with the edelbrock package, will this raise the car up when I punch the gas in a 65? It is not a racing suspension but it is modified some/

if you mean lift wheels, HELL NO, if you mean will the nose come up a little because of weight transfer, definately. unless youve got a bunch of suspension work.
