Using a slide hammer will weaken the C clip retaining the plunger inside the bore of the casting. I have seen plunger assemblies come out before the rod does (the C clip failed before the clip retaining the push rod). If the push rod is really stuborn, remove the C clip and release the plunger. Grip the push rod in a vise such that there is about 3/16" between the face of the aluminum plunger and the face of the vices jaw.Placea washer or other thin hard metal piecein between the vise and plunger. Use the blade a largescrew driver, place between the washer and vice (the washer is there too protect the soft aluminum surface of the plunger). Prytoremove thepushrod. Replace the plunder and C clip.

haha got it, solution = tie push rod to 73 porsche axle, tie master cylinder to 06 nissan axle, put nissan in drive, push rod pops out!
