t5 nwc to wc
Hello
as some of you know I picked up an old t5 for cheep and it came out of a Ford 1983-84 T-Bird/Mustang 2.3 L4 Turbo according to the tag on the case.
What does it take to make it world class specifications? how much of the parts are the same?
thanks

RE: t5 nwc to wc
Ill keep that in mind its just that i would rather spend 350 on good to fair trans. then i still have lots of other stuff to get too like clutch, pedals and all that other business. If that entry level trans last a few years for 350 bucks then i did all right and all i have to do is drop it out and replace it with good parts. If it only last a few weeks then all i have to do is drop it out and im out 350 bucks.
thats what im thinking right now.

What's in going behind? Keep in mind the NWC T5's are rated to 265 ft-lbs iirc. A few hard launches with good traction on a high power engine, and the gear clusters will be screaming.

about 270 to 300 hp
I forgot to mention that I dont plan on throwing any money into that NWC that i picked up last night for 30.00. Im going to use it as a learning tool im gonna pull it all apart and put it back to together for fun while I wait for a WC trans to come my way. When I found out it was NWC i decided not to spend any thing on it.
