Default OPINIONS:Boss-Pro 429 Scoop

Does this scoop look to big or do you think it will look good? its a boss-pro 429 scoop. itll be going onto a 70 coupe. its about 41/2" tall. its bigger than the normal 429 scoop. i was thinking itll do good for anoutside airsource for the carb.

wow where did you find that thing? looks unique, looks like it is held on by 6 hood pins?

I say go for it, not often you see those hoods, but I say stuff a 429 in there so it's not false advertising

if youve got a really tall manifold and that hole is filled with aircleaner then maybe. If it all sits below the thing, you've got a massive void there.

me, i'd look at a reverse cowl like Superdavids. Just as effective or even more so for cold air intake and not prone to letting heaps of rain in either

I don't like the scoop and I agree with Aussie on the cowl hood.

My2 cents
It's to out of proportion for the car.If yours is a race only vehicle there are better ways to feed it air.

I think those scoops look tacky. (you asked for an opinion)
Ford did not put much thought into it nor did they give any effort to make it look nice. I think they finished the car on a Thursday night and found out the hood did not fit but they wanted to show the car on Friday.
I also think cowl hoods are too Chevrolet for me. (And that ain't gonna happen)

Best of luck,
Brent

now why would you want to put a bird grabbing turd like that on such a great looking automobile? unless you are going to fill it up with performance parts...i say not to do it....as others have said...there are better ways to get cold air to your carb(s)

A little too big for my taste...the boss 429 scoop does look good. Not the pro-size. Unless you wanted to use it as a snorkel!!!
