need opinions on this 67
Im loking at this 67 as a possible buy. I love the looks of the 67's and think this one is pretty good. The thing is... I dont know much about classics so I was hoping some of you who were more experienced could tell me if this seems like a decent deal.
$4000 or best offer. I plan to pull the motor anyways and drop in a V8, restore and customize myself. There is very little rust underneath and on the frame, but a little surface rust on places like the trunk and hood. The V6 will be pulled and sold separately.
So does this seem like a decent offer to you guys?

thanks guys... yeah, its in OK condition and zero bondo. That's spray paint to keep the areas from rusting. I also have a lead on a nice fastback which I would prefer but its obviously going to cost me a bit more.
So, good deal with the motor and tranny included?

First off, that 67 is overpriced quite a bit. I paid 5000 for a running v8 car with hardly any rust and a pretty nice paint job. really, the only thing that needed work was the interior. You are gonna have to pay an arm, a leg, and your firstborn for a fastback these days. Unless you have lots of money to blow, I would get a coupe (they look better anyways IMO). Even with a 302 and tranny, if you want a V8 in the end, get a v8 car to start with. To do a V8 to I6 conversion, you need a new suspension, rear end, axles, motor mounts, etc. You will end up spending more time and money, so it is worth it to just start with a V8 anyways. I am pretty dang sure I could find a V8 car in the same shape for CHEAPER then that car is.

I actually saw a fastback in Phoenix on Craigslist. It was 5700 but it had rust all over. ninteen66mustang is right, it would be alot easier to buy a V8 mustang and not do the conversion.
