Dyno 69' cant be?

So after putting all my info in to Desktop Dyno, 351w, stock cam, headers w/ muffs, weight, tranny compression, etc. It gave me these results:

1/4 Mile
Elapsed Time: 13.97
Trap Speed: 105.4 mph

Time to Speed
0-60: 6.077
0-100: 12.675

Time in Gears:
1st: .931
2nd: 8.075
3rd: 5.252

Is this correct? Its a 69 grande, w/ a 351w. Everything is stock so far but instead have dual exhaust and headers installed.

That sounds believeable to me. Back in the 60s and 70s, 14s were pretty fast for more or less stock cars. My how times have changed though, my car is good for aroundlow 14s stock and that's not really very fast[>:]

naaaaaaahhhhhh...dreaming;)

0.9 secs in first gear? Typo?

6.0secs 0-60. I'm struggling with that one.

Why dont you head to your local track and try it out[8D]

Definately take it to the track, but expect 14's. It may go 13's if you launch really well and flog it going down the track.

My 69 with a 351w would not get anywhere near 6 second 0-60. 7 seconds maybe. Sub 14's were in fact rare for even the great muscle cars in stock form.

Not to steal the thread, but how much does Desktop Dyno cost and where could I find it?

So I have been doing some practice starts near my house, and I am having problems getting the power to the wheels without spinning out, any suggestions? Or do I just need some new tires

RE: Dyno 69' cant be?

Sticky tires are the best way to put power down, Mickey Thokpson ET Streets for example. On street tires though, it needs the driver mod majorly. To get the best 60' on street tires you'll have to brutalize the clutch, so make sure it's up to the task. Bring the rpm up to around peak torque and when you launch you slip the clutch and feather the throttle so the rpm stays around launch rpm as you roll out, trying to get the best aceleration and using the clutch/throttle to keep from spinning while keeping the rpm up. In my car I bring it up to around 4,000-4,500rpm and the clutch comes out a little more than half way while I give it a bit more gas to keep the rpm up around 4k. The trick is that if you let out on the clutch too soon, you'll bog since you drag the rpm down real quick if you're going too slow. You can really smell the clutch too, so you need a decent aftermarket to do it.

i know desktop dyno alright ... but how do you get track times out of this? addon? exported to different software?
and yes, I'm with flyingfool. the classic mustangs have aerodynamic values of a beached whale.
