Shelby Drop - 17/32"?
It's been a while since my last post, but I am happy to report that I got to work on the 65 this weekend. My uncle made a pretty good template for the Shelby Drop but the one thing I noticed was that I was able to get the upper control arm screws in with the 1/2" holes that I drilled. They were a little snug, but they definitely made it through.
Do the holes HAVE to be 17/32"?
By the way, my uncle is a darn good engineer and so he made me a pretty cool template that uses drill guides so I know the hole is a true 1/2".
Let me know what you guys think. I was going to put everything together, but I am in the processes of installing my front disc brake conversion as well. And I like to do things right, so I plan on shooting some primer and black paint on the inner wheel wells before I reassemble the new gear.
I'll post pics ASAP.
Thanks!

RE: Shelby Drop - 17/32"?
i dont think its going to make a difference.
i did mine on the weekend
all the holes were bigger than 17/32 and one was flogged out way bad.
one thing to check while its in pieces...the UCA bolts that go through those holes are sposed to be captive in the pivot arm. One side of mine was. The other wasnt and that was a pita cos you needed someone to hold it in place while you did the engine side nuts up.
