Top 5 best weight loss for a 1967 coupe
Hi friends,
What would be according to you the top 5 best ways to loose a little weight on a 1967 coupe? I am talking about not too-intrusive changes (like removing all the interior or replacing all the body). I just want small details that can add up and make a difference.
What I did in this direction so far is:
- Switching from C4 to T5 (probably 15-20 lbs)
- Completely removing the power steering (probably 10-15 lbls)
Thanks for your input, light is right

Here's mine:
Weightgainers-
8" to 9" rear
audio crap
Weight losers-
Fiberglass hood
c4/t5 swap, I heard its good for 75 lbs...
stripped allA/C and heater stuff
aluminum intake, soon heads too
skinnier girlfriend upgrade

Radio and any speakers (have your female passengers sing to you)
Bumpers (avoid any traffic/obstacles)
Headlights (driving at night with headlights is easy... little ole ladies do it.... real drivers don't need no stinkin' headlights)
Rear seat (two girls can fit on a single front passenger seat...trust me.... plus they can perform duets opening up a whole bunch of additional songs)
WS wiper motor/linkage and wipers (use rainex)
Swapping to an 8" rearend will net considerable weight savings (an 8" can be beefed up to almost the standards of a 9")
Aluminum radiator ($$$.$$)
Aluminum block/heads/intake ($,$$$.$$- $$,$$$.$$)
Heater box (body heat... the girls will get tired of singing eventually.... hopefully...)

I know the 65-66 coupes were that light, I don't think the '67-up are. But Aluminum heads are a great, realistic weight savings. It increases an engine's performance, drops weight, evens out weight distribution and it is weight sitting at a tall height, so a plus there.
