she's to fat! diet plan needed.
i am trying to reduce the wieght of my 66. I have already removed the AC from my car and i converted it to manual steering, but i did save the original parts. what else can i do to help her lose weight? i need a new hood because the fire fighters destroyed the original one. does anyone sell a light wieght fiber glass hood? i plan on using hood pins also since my hood latch was destroyed. I don't want to gut her because i drive her every other day. any help is greatly appreciated.

Aluminum heads and intake. Move the battery to the trunk.

Take out the back seat and the passenger seat, or basically strip out the interior except for the driver seat. Mustangs Plus sells a fiberglass hood but it’s pricey.
Now, the next question is, Why do you want to save a bunch a weight? Are you getting ready for some drag racing? [sm=gears.gif] |

i wanna lose weight so when i race her after work i can make more of a joke out of the hopped up lawn mowers with their fart pipes and run through of few chevys. i don't really want to strip the interior even though i know that is the easiest way to lose weight. i will run her at the local run what you brung races when time allows it

I'd say that Glen summed it up pretty well: aluminum bolt-ons and relocate that battery. Other than that, you're not going to loose too much weight. The trick instead will be to make it breathe better, up the torque, and use some sticky tires. Don't make it lighter; make it more powerful.

What would be the curb weight on a early mustang anyway? I was wondering what the weight on my 69 coupe was myself.

Here’s a twist. Instead of losing weight why not increase horsepower. Same end result but more impressive. (More expensive also)!

You don't still happen to have that A/C unit do you? My girl has no heater, blower or a/c. Nothin. And it's getting hot here in South Florida.
