Best double pumper carburator

RE: Best double pumper carburator
Street engines are far better off being slightly "under-carbed." You might lose 10-20 peak hp, but the overall upper rpm power band average stays similar, however the smaller carb will get much better mileage and throttle response, and run better at lower rpm. Carb's are NOT there to meter air going into the engine, they're there to meter fuel. They do that by signal, and smaller carbs make more signal. There is a point where going too small will hurt power everywhere by strangling it, but you basically can't buy a a 4bbl today that's that small, even for a stock 289.
