I am about to replace both the quarter panels on my early 68 fastback. I have damage on the rear of the quarter panel from a rear end collision and the wheel wells are rusted out, but I do not have any damage above the belt line or around the top of the trunk. I intend on cutting out the damaged part of the quarters and cutting and butt welding the new ones in.

In looking at replacement quarter panels, there is a huge difference in prices between the coupe and the fastback Can I use the quarter panel intended for a coupe on a fatback if I need to replace the rear part that attaches to the taillight panel?
