If you have some geek in you I'd go Megasquirt.

Everybody I know in the vintage BMW 2002 groups have had great success with the setup. They are fuel injecting 2.0L BMW 4cyl engines from stock to wild. The good thing about is that it is DIY, so you learn about the whole system as you build it up. It is flexible, you could fuel inject just about anything if you wanted to. It allows you to build up whatever system you want, then tune it infinitely. So, you just dig up some manifold with injectors, a throttle body, a MAF, wiring harness and a pocket protector, then you are good to go.
I think it is way better than purchasing an overpriced kit from Edelbrock, or trying to make a stock setup work.
After you get it figured out you could fuel inject just about anything.

Actually, I pulled the 351W when I redid the car and swapped in a Ford Racing 5.0L motor. That said, there have been PLENTY of 351W swaps into '87 - '93 Mustangs that it wouldn't be too difficult ... though not cheap. The only way to do an EFI swap cheaply is to use stock take-off parts. Once you start buying aftermarket manifolds, TB's, MAF's, high flow injectors, etc., the price starts getting up ther.
That said, I love having the EFI in my '65. Although I don't mind how it looks under the hood, I rarely have the hood open unless I'm performing maintenance.

I was planning on doing it on a budget if possible.. But now I am thinking that I will just try and tune it down a little for better mileage.. Thanks for the replies guys. I will still be looking into it and maybe planning for it sooner or later.. Its just if I am going to pay almost $450 for a new carb and intake, I could just go EFI instead..

I haven't used it on a vintage Mustang but the system is based on a GM
system and is similar to the one I had on my 1989 4.3L Blazer. It's a simple
TBI system that looks like a carb and bolts to a carb mount. You need to use your existing intake manifold so it's adaptable to many carb engines. Looks
relitively easy to install. Before I saw this TBI, I got a new Edelbrock carb(very nice carb), otherwise I would have gone with a TBI, the price is right.

I've been thinking of doing EFI on my 302 since it is not the 351W I was told it had. The engine has already been modified I'm more interested in hiding the EFI on a 302. If I was wanting it to be seen I'd just stick a 4.6L Modular engine in it.
Too many things I'd like to do and not enough money.
Now I know how everyone else feels on these sites.

Just so this information is buried somewhere on the forum.
The current version Megasquirt 3.0 EFI computer is about $250 in kit form or $330 assembled. If I ever get the mustang back together I might just decide to inject the Cleveland to try to get a little more HP and mileage out of it.
