Default 1969 Mach 1 - did they come from the factory w/out center consoles?

I'm am considering buying one and it has no center console and I'm worried that it may be a fake. I'm getting a Marti but I was wondering if anyone knows if they came w/out the center consoles.

Thanks!

Bill

Never mind. I thought I had seen a few Mach 1's without, but now that I think about it they were Boss 302s.

I'm pretty sure the Mach's came with center consoles... part of what made a mach 1 a mach 1 is that it had the deluxe interior, which includes the center console as far as i'm concerned. This was of course on top of the 351w 2-barrel or better motor, hood black out, side stripes, decal on taillight panel, fold down seat, etc. etc.

Like 4reboy stated I had a console and the 351W (stock 2 barrel). Man I wish I had pics to post of that beauty.

My Mach1 does not have a console, but I think many of them fell apart and were taken out. Mine has the dash ash tray and lighter, so it looks like an original non-console car for what it is worth. I plan to put one in it for Christmas though.

Yeah, in those days maybe too many people had fat girl friends sitting on the console smashing them to pieces.

My 71 mach1 for sure came with no console, no tach and no Mag 500 wheels. Those were part of a separate option package(s), not the Mach1 pkg.

The Mach1 pkg in 71 was mostly the HD suspension (ft and rear sways, staggerd shocks), sportroof, hood scoops, special seats, exterior Mach1 trim and grill (side stripes were optional) and V8 (302 was base, 351 and 429 were optional).

I bet that the 69 pkg is similar, with maybe a few changes.
