Need a bit of reassurance with this wheel / tire combo....
....
Things seem to be ok using the Dodgestang chart, but money is tight so I wanted to double check. 65 Coupe, bone stock suspension etc. I have a line on: 14x8, American Racing 200s all around... 3.75 BS, 4.5 bolt pattern. have "mint" 215/60R14's on them. Thoughts? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/DSC_0012.jpg |
Oh, thanks in advance.
|
I don't think so. Proper backspacing on an 8" wide 14-16" rim on a 65-66 is 4.5", and that should only fit in the back. 3.75" is going to push the wheels way outisde the fenders.

Agree...you're fenders will cut those tires up in 2 weeks.

Son of a bitch. Thanks guys. Ugh, love these wheels.

As a point of reference...These are my old wheels/tires. 15x7 Magnum 500s with 4.25" backspacing and 215/60-15 Goodyear tires

James,
That looks great. I would be happy with that exact setup. Really nice. So, let's see if I am on the right page here: You went with 4.25 all around to get 215s on there. If you had just wanted 205s, you could have gone with 3.75? Did you have to do any rolling of fenders to get the 215s on there? |
Moon,
those look like they were made for a truck, not a mustang. |
Moon, the idea is to get the wheel as close to the spindle as possible without rubbing so that you get as much fender clearance as possible. 14-16" wheels that are 7" wide need 4.25" backspacing for the front of 65-66's. 8" wheels are pretty much too big for the front of the early body style without modifying the fender.
