One vote for Dynomax Turbos!
The blomasters drone and are way too loud.
They say "Here I am, start writing the tickets!"

Thanks for all the feedback but I should have given you more info. 68 convertible (sort of the wifes car), bone stock 289 2 barrell. Just finished the interior and put it back to stock colors, trying to stay fairly true to the original. A muscle car its not and I'm not trying to pretend it is. Just want enough 'tone' to hear it when we get on it a little and we know its a V8.

Now when I get my dream stang (69 fastback) I'll be looking for a different exhaust tone!

Turbo mufflers then. Even tone at idle, mildly aggressive when you get into the throttle, and very tolerable cruising tone. They can get a raspy glasspack-ish sound at high rpm's, but I doubt your wife's going to spend much time above 4k

Thanks Tad, who makes the Turbo? Is it a Flowmaster product?

Just about every manufacturer has a turbo muffler. It's simply the name of a particular muffler design, usually involving a couple tubes and fiberglass packing. I had Rhino Superturbos (Midas Brand) on my car for a while and they were ok sounding, as long as I stayed under 4k rpm.

I have the same car setup as your 2v, 289, manifolds. I have flowsmasters on mine and love it. I am not sure of the model as they where put on before I got the car but the car sounds great. I would like to do tr-y headers soon but have to figure out what to do with the choke since its vacuum activated off the manifold.
