Default Anyone know of offset spindles?

I'm doing a Mustang II front end on a 70 Maverick for a customer...
He had wheels made before the conversion, now he lost about 2" in width.
The new set up is narrower and with his $500 per rim, it might be cheaper to find spindles that will offset those 2 extra inches.
Providing the Geometry of the front end won't get affected...
A 2" spacer doesn't sound like a good idea.

I know some of you guys have done plenty of custom work and maybe someone ran into this idea before.
I'm sure that Ford made spindles with various offset between all the different model cars they produced...

I don't have time to search the web right this minute but I will...
Thanks.

Most offset spindles are designed to lower the car. I haven't seen any that will widen the track. Perhaps a set from a different vehicle like a 87 to 93 Mustang?

Yeah, I just don't know which car will be the donor...
I know it was an awkward question but I always get those non main stream jobs.
If I find such animal, it doesn't mean we'll retain the same ride height either.
I'm gonna do a 67 fastback next and it's gonna be the same scenario if he doesn't go with custom rims...

They run struts so the top hole of the spindle is different. I was going to get a set of fox spindles until I found that out.

Good call there...
Mc Pearson strut set up wouldn't work, that for sure.

Chassisworks makes their g-machine IFS in several track widths http://www.cachassisworks.com/DataSh...160_DS_WEB.pdf. If you cant get the correct width couldn't you just add 2 inches to the middle of the MII crossmember. The geometry would remain the same but you would need a new or modified rack to extend the pivot points

I forgot about those guys...
I talked to them at the PRI show, dohh.

Add 2 inches to the xmember isn't gonna happen.
It's caught between the frame rails of the car.

I'll call them and see if they have wide enough spindles...
Thanks.

I doubt they have different offset spindles and even if they did I doubt the would work because they make their own specifically for their g-machine front end and its not the same as a MII. They offer different track widths by lengthening the crossmember. If the suspension is already welded in I don't think you're going to be able to change the track width.

Looks like they use Chrysler type ball joints.
I might elongate those control arms and outer tie rods..
