shocks

i have a 66 convertible-question-has anyone out there changed their standard shock system to air shocks-if so, was there a big improvement in the ride and was it difficult to intall and at what cost-thanks

ive actually read on the site that the shock towers/mounts are not strong enough for air shocks.

i think a lot of people have edelbrock, KYB shocks

Do NOT do this. Mustangs (or any similar small Ford) are not designed for use with air shocks. The rear upper shock mounts are simply a thin piece of sheet metal, not designed to hold any portion of the vehicle's weight. Air shocks will eventually crack this support and break right through the bottom of the vehicle.

If your vehicle is sagging, you need new leaf springs. A set of stock replacement springs isn't that expensive.

If you're trying to improve ride quality, look into some KYB GR-2 shocks, or some Edelbrock IAS's if you have the money.
