Its just mandrel bent tubing you can buy to fab up your own exhaust. You can find them all over the place there are a lot of ebay sellers that stock them. I think jegs sells them too. This is a UJ bend just for reference. You just cut the angles you need and piece your system together.

Thanks Stangtjk.
That is a pretty good idea. I will pick a couple of those up when I get to that point.

I guess I should have mentioned this in my original post...

Boss 331
AFR 185cc heads
9.8:1 comp ratio
about 350 hp

So far it seems like i'm going with 2.5 inch piping...

If you have a stock to nearly stock 289 and are going with a tame quiet exhaust then 2.25 is fine.

I voted for 2.5. I think it sounds much better. Its deeper and less raspy. I wouldn't go any bigger unless you have a beefed up big block.

You can go as big as 3" on the 67' & up body styles as long as the motor is puuting out some serious horsepower. But then again too big is not good either. The bigger you go the less torque your motor makes. We're not talking MONSTER motors here.

I have magnaflow with an X pipe on my 289. Not on street yet as still putting together the interior. The fit and installation was great except at the very rear where I have a GT valance. I didnt notice that the gas tank is set in the way on the drivers side so I will have to do some custom work on the exit pipes. Sounds excellent however but dont know about the performance yet.

here a thought.
the new 5.0 HO.factory headers are 2.5.
what if you go 2.25 into a 2.5 mufflers and 2.5 to exit.
so it like a funnel, NOW if you have stock cast iron 302 logs..you are already way to tight..truly go 2.5 to exit.
factory headers primary are 1=1/2 on tri Y headers. to 2.5 collectors.
i think 2.5 is better way to go, you'll notice more TOP END. basically.
