They are fast!! As for the holder, I don't have the console in yet and it sure didn't look like they would fit right. The angle doesn't look right to me. I will look at them again when I get the carpet and console back in just to see.

I know this is an old thread, but I am having a hard time finding pictures of a 3 point install in a 65-66 coupe. For some reason the pictures don't work. Anyone have pics of a coupe install? Great write up!!

I have looked at those, but a 67-68 is a little different than the 65-66. My headliner is still in so I have limited room to look around. I think I may have to do a little cutting, but I am curious what others have done. Thanks

Roan65, the 68 should already have the bolt hole in the roof section (mine did), for the retrac part, make a decision where you want to put it, and drill 2 3/4 hole so the bolts in the bracket slip right in weld the bracket in place and your done. Personally i went as close to the floor board as possable. workout well for me. when i repaced the headliner i forgot to mark the location on the bolt hole so i had to study the body manual to figure out where the hole was with out distoying the new headliner.

Thanks for the info. My 65 has a hole in the roof, but I am not sure if it is for a seat belt. I am going to make it work. My 65 doesn't have a place slip the bracket in. I think I can fish it up there with a piece of wire. I ordered the belts and should be here shortly.

I went the cheap route: Retractor unit from a mid 90's Chevy S-10, buckle from a mid 90's Windstar, and upper threaded mounts and bolts from Juliano's Hot Rods. About 60.00 total for 3 point seat belts!

1965 Fastback with the S-10 retactor for 3 point belts has only one drawback - the retractor and the bright aluminum trim on the seat rub when the seat is pushed all the way to the rear.

On the plus side of using the S-10 retractor... They come in all kinds of colors (tan, black, grey, maroon), and they can mount in the original rocker panel hole - no hole in the floor required!
