Dyno tuning scheduled next week! (game inside)
Hi friends,
I have decided to go for a dyno tuning next week. I want to do it for two obvious reasons: get the best out of my engine and get some numbers to have fun with
To add some fun I have decided to test your ability to guess accurate rwhp numbers! I have seen 289 going from 140 to 400+ rwhp, some real numbers, some dreamers, etc.
So here is the question: how many rwhp will my 289 with Performer Heads, RPM Air Gap intake, long tubes headers, flowmaster 40 series, XE256 Cam, Holley 600cfm, 3500 miles since rebuild will make post dyno tuning?
You cannot edit your post and I will attach the results probably next Friday. The winner gets a nice classic Mustang keychain, no joke
My guess: 265 rwhp.
Good luck!
P.S: do you think that I would benefit from a swap to a 750cfm carb before the dyno tuning?

262hp@5,300rpm and 271tq@4,100rpm
That cam is gonna hold you back in terms of power.
Also keep in mind that if it's a dynojet it will read higher, if it's a Mustang dyno it will be more realistic. Also carbureted cars can run differently on a dyno than on the road, so if you want you can use the dyno as a baseline, and then tweak it a bit after it's tuned. Best way is go to the strip and tune for max mph.
