Scott,

I tried the hose for the big block 70 lower hose, the pump side was 1.5" but my pump ws 1.75" It had the correct bends though. I ended up using the Gates flex hose with the green stripe. The lower hose number was the same for all three V-8 motors that were avail that year. Bad part.... I cut the hose to length before checking the sizes so I had to eat the cost of the hose...

Jeepers, just get the 65-66 "5.0" radiator. The lower outlet is on the LH side, and the 70 351C hoses slip right on. Problem solved.

I had the radiator outlet swapped which made it the 5.0 radiator. However that 70 hose has two size ends on it. 1.5 on the pump side and 1.75 on the radiator side and my radiator and the pump were 1.75 each.

The 15" flex hose was perfect.

The Gates Vulcoflex hoses are nice for a flex hose.

Scott,

That number didn't come up for the Mustang for any of the engines, all the engines for the 70 call for 20697 which has the two different sizes. The reason I didn't find the hose that you got was because it cross references to the 1970 fairlane, falcon, cyclone, montego, rancero and Torino all with any of the V8. I might just go check that hose out though.

Adding the spring is no problem, they are readily available.
