all my gauges read full...help
so i was working on fixing my gauges since only my speedometer and fuel gage worked. i tried making my own voltage regulator...that didnt work so i put the old one back in and now all the gauges read full (or to the extreme right) oil pressure is to the right on H and same with the temperature gauge. and the fuel gage (which was the only one that worked before but only showed 3/4 when full) is now beyond full to the far right and theres only a 1/4 of gas in it
what the heck did i do?

I just did mine on my 67. It does sound like your senders are grounded some how. I do suggest spending $15 to $20 and replace both your oil sender unit and Temp sender to make sure they are not grounded out. Also inspect your fire wall to senders harness with a tester to make sure its working fine.

ok so where should i mount the IVR? should i put it somewhere that it wont ground it self out?
and does this mean all my gauges are working since they all moved to the right?

I don't have a cluster here handy to photograph, but it should only mount one way.

Yes if the gauge moves to PIN..then they work

thanks alot for that diagram. i had a this website help me out a bit
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xzht_ppgu8...0-h/Gauges.JPG
but anyway i mounted it exactly the way it was mounted originaly. so i dont know what i did, maybe ill just not mount when i get back in there and just wrap electric tape around it to keep from shorting anything (i think the components inside the regulator is touching the wall of the regulator body because i took the regulator apart and put it back together) anyway im back at college for 3.5 more week before summer break so ill get back to it then
