rear springs: reverse eye? standard eye?

lol well you see, the beauty of it is...you can drop BOTH front and rear and keep it level!!

I think this mistake went into production and was then accepted as a Mustang "trademark" of sorts...
When I say that I have always found this to be true I mean it. I made this observation in my earliest memories of Mustangs...
IMO the nose high stance is more VISIBLE on coupes.
The drop in the front will go a long way to make things look right...

I have a '66 factory GT coupe with a lean to one side like a ski slope. After reading this thread, it sounds like the 5 leaf mid-eye will give me the correct ride height for a GT which is 1" lower than standard. My other option is to have the springs reset, any comments would be appreciated, cost is not an issue here.

LOL talk about waking up a 100 year old post :-)
the signature below is 5leaf mid-eye
I believe mid-eye is the way to go, but the 5 are too stiff. and 4.5 won't make the car sit higher or lower than 5 mid eye
opt for 4.5 leaf. i just got the 5 as that was seller had in stock. i'm used to it by now but it's quite jerky in the back. well off the marks of comfortable
my front is still too high (waiting for me to get bored and do the shelby drop, i opt for february). front is currently stockish

On my '64 1/2, I have 5 leaf standard eye springs on the back with KYB Gas-a-Just shocks and a 5/8" sway bar.
Up front, I run 620 springs with 1" poly insulators, 1 5/8" Shelby drop with a Negative Wedge kit, Opentracker Street Ready UCAs, Roller LCAs and Roller spring perches. I do have OEM strut rods with Poly bushings, but will probably swap these out for aftermarket heim-joint style rods when I'm ready for a front end alignment. I should probably add that I roll on 17 x 8 Ultra 454s with 225/40s on the front and 255/40s out back. I may be purchasing some American Racing Shelbys in 17 x 7 for the front and 17 x 8s (or 9s) for the rear this spring.
I recently added Tin Man Fabrications subframe connectors. Love em!
When I went with the 5 leaf springs, I was told to go with 4s because the 5would be too harsh. But, my car rides beautifully with minimal lean in curves. I swap cars with my buddy who has a '94 set up for road racing-He'll tell you that my car rides great, but it drives nothing like any old car he's ever driven!
The cool thing about Mustangs, is that they could be spec'd to the buyer's intended use; anything from a dressed up six cylinder to a V8 muscle car. Now we get to do the same thing!
It depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you want your car to ride like a Caddy, Buy a Caddy. If you want it to be a lowrider, you can do the Air Ride and 20s. I was inspired by movies like "Bullitt" and watching Trans Am racing when I was a kid. Living in Colorado, a Canyon Carver is what I've built!

I picked up standard eye's from mustang+ and my back end was soooo far up in the air it looked pitiful, worse than air shocks. If money isn't a prob, get mid-eyes, and have them peened at a spring shop for about $50 to get the exact height. I've added 1/2" to mine instead of blocks, and it's the perfect rake with 620 1" drop in the front. btw, 4 1/2 leaf, very nice ride.
