Cool WHEEL/BRAKE HUB ON A 66 MUSTANG 6 CYL

Checking my brakes the other day and the Hub seperated from the Drum. I read were they need to be machined pressed togther, but my mechanic & I are wondering if that really needs to be done since what really holds everything in place is the wheel bearing locknut. Once that's secure, the 4 nuts hold & press the drum to the wheel hub anyway.

Any reason, I need to worry about this??? Ths- Jack

I can't think of any. Seems to me the shank of the bolts was supposed to hold the assembly together, but once the wheel is on it makes no difference.

You have to be able to get it off easily to service the brakes. Seems normal to me.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It pretty much confirms what I thought. I just wanted to make sure! ~ Jack
