Timing on a 302 where it is Advanced alot

I have a question for you. I went to start my engine to day. Started up without a problem. Sounded good too. I go do something for a few minutes and then come back out and try to start up the engine and it will not turn over to start... It turns over very very slowly. Anyways, As i rotate back and forth on the distributor it gets slower one way and slower the otherway. AHHH lol. I am going crazy.

The setup is with an advanced where #1 is moved over to #8 and so forth. As for the cam its a pro comp.

Do pro comp cams require to be that advanced or do they require to be stock. (Normal Advancement / #1 on cap to #1 on piston)?

Thanks for your help!

This is normal. Being able to move the distributor is not. Re-set the timing, and tighten the bolt properly.

No, they should not work any different than a real Ford cam. This is not what is meant by "cam timing".

So in essence I should be able to move my timming back to normal and it should be ok! Fast ignition etc.

not sure I totally understand your situation but, timing can effect the turn over of the engine at starting, more advanced can slow the starting speed from the starter. Another factor can be the condition of the starter, when the starter is hot, worn bushings in the starter can cause it to turn slower during start.
