Default Sandblasted inside... What to prime with?

Hi, I just sandblasted the whole inside of my 65 stang... new floors and everything. I was wondering if anyone knows the best thing to prime/paint it with. I was thinking of using redoxide primer but wanted some input since it took so long to do.... I dont want to make a mistake now. THANKS

Best to use would be a direct to metal epoxy primer.

Any epoxy primer should do fine just make sure you clean the surface well. I stripped my 68 to bare metal and primed it with kirker epoxy primer. It was only around $90 for 2 sprayable gallons and I was very happy with it.

Just because it is an epoxy primer does not mean it is a "direct to metal" (DTM) epoxy primer. Most automotive epoxy primers are DTM, but be sure. DTM primers have additives to etch for bonding and also have corrosion inhibiting additives. Bottom line - You need to make sure the primer is rated for DTM use.

Epoxy primer is like a coat of armor and it is practically waterproof (unlike most other primers).

thanks for the advice... I feel that painting it with a brush gets in the cracks better... should I do that or will spraying be just as good? Also, do they sell DTM epoxy primer at autozone or advance? Or where should I go to get it.

find a local car paint supply shop for the primer and spray it epoxy primer. it goes on thicker and flows great. i use ppg and as long as i clean good with a metal cleaner it hard as nails

I don't agree with all that. I've never seen an epoxy primer that was not recommended to be sprayed over bare metal. He said the metal was sandblasted so there would already be a good tooth to promote adhesion so any epoxy would be fine. Epoxy primer was used on bare metal long before the DTM and self etch stuff they have now. I'm not even sure the "DTM" epoxy primers are any different I think its more of a marketing term.
