Default Need help on a couple of items

I have a couple of questions I thought you folks could help me with:

1. Carb rebuild - 69 2v stock carb leaking, kit rebuild or send to Ponycarbs? What's your opinion, experience or other options?

2. Fuel gauge not working on 69 how to trouble shoot?

3. Temp gauge not working on 67 how to trouble shoot?

Thanks for the help!

Rebuilt it, or go to a parts store and use it as a core for an already rebuilt unit. Or get a better carb if situation warrants.

On the other 2, do you have a volt meter? Run continuity/resistance checks on wiring, check the sender units.

are your other gauges working on those cars? if so they your instrument voltage regulator probably works but you could always spend about $15 and make a solid state IVR

A quick check on the gauges can be made by turning on the key and grounding the wire at the sender (will work for both). If the gauge goees full, it is a sender problem. If not, you need to look farther up the circuit.

Pony Carbs are pretty expensive IMHO. Rebuilding a carb is pretty easy and a good learning experience. All you need is a kit, a clean place to work, some carb cleaner and a few tools. Everything is pretty much a remove & replace. The exploded view in the kit tells you where everything goes.

HTH!
