Myself and a number of others here use the Sequential Taillight kit from Mustang Project. Easy install, nice & bright and there is the cool factor as well.

Not dot approved means they are illegal but most cops won't give you a ticket. Most i have asked told me as long as your taillights lite up red and they can see them your fine.Led last longer brighter and use less power is why i love them. But you get what you pay for the cheap replacement bulb type most auto part stores sell suck. Most of us have mustang project leds and love them they are worth every penny.

I got the 5x brighter sequential kit for my 69 and LOVE them. They really could be 5x brighter, the ground glows from the amount of light that comes out, and it isn't even as hot as the bulb! That single bulb trying to light up all three sections of the tail light just wasn't happening so I had to upgrade. It was a little expensive but worth it for safety and cool factor, it is a very quality piece and easy to install, definitely go the LED route from mustang project.

I add sequential and I love them. They are also much brighter. Cops have never bothered me about them.
