Removing dried 3M weathership adhesive
As the title say.. whats the easiest way? I had to pull the trunk strip due to the fact the adhesive had separated and I guess it didn't adhere well. The weatherstripping also needed to be stretched a bit more. Unfortunately I now have a mess all the way around.

Ok.. new paint so the scraper and wirewheel are out. I was thinking more of what I might have on hand.. Varsol, Medium Reducer, Methyl Hydrate, etc. I know gently used they wont hurt the paint but will they soften up the adhesive for removal?

Goop Off wins! Got the small can of it (not the spray) and it took it off the rear deck in about 45 minutes. The weatherstripping isn't as safe as I tried it on a small section and it started to eat the rubber after a bit of rubbing. I wound up wiping the Goof Off along the weatherstripping with about 4 or 5 passes which started to soften the adhesive. I then rubbed it off with Methyl Hydrate which dried the adhesive and it rolled off.

Will that remove the yellow adhesive too? The PO used that on my trunk and I hate it. I have the 3M black adhesive, but went the wire wheel route on one door and would like an easier solution.
Now is it Goo Gone or Goof Off? I think I have both.

WD-40 - is excellent for removing adhesives. It takes some elbow grease, but it's assured not to damage paint or scratch. it creates a slick surface so the adhesive doesn't want to stick. Use it all the time for tape, 3M, decals, etc.
