Default Window hard to roll up at top

My 65's drivers side window is pretty easy to roll up until you get near the top and it seems to get stock on the felt guide. You can pull the window towards the back of the car and it becomes easier to crank.

How would you fix this and is there any way to do so without removing the door panels?

Canary, Mine did the same thing. I tried trimmng the felt in the channel. That didn't work. I ended up having to replace the channel that is attached to the quarter window that the side glass slides up and down on. Now they work great. You obviously have to take the door apart to replace that piece. Also those 2 channels are not cheap...about 100 for the pair.
