How do I get rid of paint overspray from spray can?
I was doing some touch up painting on a small spot on my hood with a spray can. I didn't cover enough of the hood (lazy I guess). Some paint sprayed on the good shiny paint. How do I get rid of paint over spray from spray can?

I'd use a small amount of paint thinner on a rag and work fast. The fresh paint should come right off before the thinner has a chance to eat into the older paint. The tricky part is when you get close to the touched up area.

if you have a buffer buff first, then go to a reducer wipe then wipe dry if that doesnt work move to thinner.
if the above doesnt work, use some 2000 grit paper wet sand and buff back
if the above doesnt work, use some 2000 grit paper wet sand and buff back

Several Ideas Worked
Hey thank you all for the ides. Several of the ideas worked. I tested different concepts on various parts. The paint thinner worked great. The wax cleaner worked too. The sandpaper worked (I used 1000 that left a mild scratches that came out with the wax cleaner). I also used clay bar. That worked too.

Still have scratches from the 1000 grit sandpaper
I still have scratches from the 1000 grit sandpaper. So, don't do that. How can I get these scratches out? It may just be to the clear coat. Can I use wet sanding with say, 2000 grit?
