Default dash pad or dash pad cap?

When i purchased my 66 Mustang the guy sent me a really thin plastic mold of the dash pad. So my question is..... Is this a reproduction dash pad or just a cap that goes over a existing cracked dash pad? This thing is flimsy and I hope reproductions aren't this bad. Thanks guys.

That sounds like the cheap pad caps. Toss it and order a new dash pad from your favorite vendor. I think just about everyone carries the dash pads from Dash's Direct.

Cheap? That thing is the "LOW COST" alternative to purchasing a new dash pad. Supposed to fit it over your cracked and peeling dash pad.
The real surprise is that it costs $75.00! Half the price of a real aftermarket pad (cheaper ones). I think you will go through a dozen or more of those when you could have bought the real dash pad. It's a flimsy skin and really shouldn't cost more than $20.
The real aftermarket pads are just like the solid one you have on there now.

I would just get the real deal. Those molded covers don't work out that well.
