Default Dash Cut

Working through a 65 coupe I recently purchased. The dash has been cut up a bit to accommodate a tape deck, specifically 2 additional holes where very crudely drilled for the tuning *****.

So basically replacing it with an oem look-a-like is out without replacing the dash or using one of those weld in patch kits. Any ideas for a temp fix? I would like to do it right at some point but it might be a while before I can go down that road.

Thanks

Joe

You should still be able to use the patch kit, but weld later. The nuts on the radio should hold it in place, or you can just use mild adhesive behind it.

Going with an OEM style stereo limits your options. They're not bad units but they're dated. Because the dash is already cut it wouldn't be a sin to cut it to DIN size, then you could install a true state of the art type unit. Unless you're a concourse kind of guy... If so, well...Never mind.

Cut it for a din or radio delete plate is all you can do with out welding.

Really, only two holes? No big chop?

Na just 2 holes, looks like a chipping hammer was used to make them though.
