night time saftey upgrade you should all do
 

So just did this 5 minute upgrade and for anyone who hasn't done it yet you should do it

I can now see every single one of my gauges at night perfectly and it only costs $25 bucks with shipping ($5 dollar shipping)

Versus 30 bucks at mustang project + the 10 dollars shipping or even more for their so called brighter kit

Here is what I bought

Their are different colors to choose from and i would even recommend upgrading your courtesy lights to led as the ones from here are more of the incandescent look rather than the blue and very bright i might add.


If you decide to do this make sure you cut the bulb retaining springs in half because led bulbs do not like spring pressure. Also you can pop off your probably melted light filters since these bulbs are colored. (unless you want to use them and go for white for a more stock look....)

Looks pretty damn good. What year is your car?

I honestly like my stock lighting. The speedo's a little dim, but I can see everything fairly well after repainting the needles with Testor's flourescent orange model paint.

Mustang project sells led cluster bulb.But the whole lighting system on these cars needs updating.h4 headlights are a must and led tail lights are nice too.Or even a simple relay kit on your stock headlights helps them out too.

yea i got h4 headlights but def need the relay with them

and mustang projects costs more i was just showing a cheaper alternative as the bulbs they use are the exact same they just charge 10 bucks more for im assuming a set of directions for dummies :)

led tail lights are next on my list but a cheap upgrade is to use the 2357 bulb which is brighter when brakes are applied than the 1157

That looks cool.

Needle paint does make a big difference.

I really like my factory cluster illumination and probably won't change it. I have a high output alternator though and a headlight relay setup. My instrument cluster is easy to read.

You don't have to get the H4 setup to get good lighting. I got Sylvania Xtravision sealed beam bulbs that are 55w/65w like the newer capsule bulbs and the lighting is great.

I don't want LEDs in my dome or courtesy lights or anywhere on my car. I think it detracts from the classic part of the car. I am trying to keep mine looking somewhat period correct or at least that style.

Is this your stock type bulbs?

I'll be doing something similar with mine someday.

no thats the led's with a different camera and for some reason it contrasted it

anyways there are dome style led bulbs u can get which look very incandescent in light color for courtesy lights.
