i hate sap....ideas?
so awhile back when i was gone i mentioned to my dad to take the mustang out and keep the fluids runnin thru her and not let her sit for months on end. he did this but forgot to put the tarp back on her when he was done.....thus this happens.
i got 3 brushes, nylon, brass, and stainless steel. nylon was to soft. brass seems to work if i scratch softly but still leaves a trace amount left. dont wanna use the stainless steel one since it will probably scratch the paint.
i've tried a bug, tar, and sap remover spray but that does squat. Any ideas short of hunching over the car for hours next weekend? other idea was swallow my pride and do a quick $400 maaco paint job (god help me). really really really dont wanna do that but worst case scenario.....
thanks in advance

I would try lighter fluid to attempt to soften or dissolve the sap.
If that doesnt work
Buy a wool polishing wheel with the velcro base to attach to a good drill. Get a medium cut compound and use highest speed on the drill use medium pressure and work a small section at a time. The heat / compound should remove the sap, scratches, and some paint.
Go over the section with a glaze like meguiars # 7 with a foam pad that will attach to the same base as the wool pad.
Then go over it with a wax.
Make sure the paint is as clean (dust dirt free) before doing any buffing / cutting.

That sucks. I can't believe its that bad. I would think that most of that would come off with just some good car soap and a soft sponge.
By the way don't cover your car with that cheapo blue tarp. They scratch the paint and they don't breathe at all so they hold in moisture. You can get a car cover for not much money.
