my mustang will be around town once in a while and driven to my work a few times a month (6 miles and 55mph speed limit) and i would love to take it to my near by dragstrip (famoso raceway) i was hoping to have a good gear ratio that will be ok for me to drive my mustang on the freeway for 1.5 hours at 65 mph without having my 408w reving too high to show my dad what i did to the family car lol right now a have a c4 trans that my mustang had... what do you think it might cost to build it to handle that power Gun Jam? ill look into the TKO 600

Im not real sure on the cost or practicality of a high torque c4.

But with that much torque a 3.00 rearend might be what you are looking for. With a 3.00 and your driving requirements a c4 with its 1:1 final drive at 65 mph would get you about 2600 RPM if your rear tire is 25" tall which is very doable.

Rebuilding that c4 and sticking a nice shifter on there might just be the ticket.

You could talk to UrbanCowboy about his gear ratio and I think he runs a toploader with similar torque output. He could probably better recommend a trans than I could as he knows what works best with that much torque.
